Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for assigned patients, participate in education, leadership and quality improvement activities, and support a team of healthcare professionals in a dialysis setting.

The role requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing, state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and at least 9 months of RN experience with some dialysis exposure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure and CPR/BLS certification.
• 9 months RN experience; 3 months in chronic/acute hemodialysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing data collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and adjust treatment plans as indicated.
• Educate patients and families about care plans.
• Direct and provide safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Assist with staff training and orientation of new staff.
• Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures and reschedule missed collections.
• Document outcomes and updates to nursing assessment and plan of care with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Inform patients about transplant and treatment modality options.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current appropriate state licensure
