Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 role. This position supports the Clinical Advancement Program, participates in the End Stage Kidney Disease care team, and collaborates with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians to coordinate care.

The role includes data collection during hemodialysis, patient education, safe delivery of therapy, medication administration, and involvement in staff training and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre – during – post hemodialysis treatment and documents in the patient medical record, adjusting the treatment plan as indicated.
• Provides patient/family education on learning needs and treatment.
• Directs and provides safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
