Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 track to provide coordinated, clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients, including pre- and post-hemodialysis assessment and education.

The RN will work within the End Stage Kidney Disease team, delegating tasks appropriately, participating in quality improvement, and supporting the continuity of care across shifts and locations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis and document in the medical record.
• Adjust treatment plans as indicated and inform supervisors as needed.
• Educate patients and families on learning needs and care plans.
• Deliver safe and effective hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administer medications per prescribed algorithms and document justification.
• Initiate emergency response measures as needed.
• Assist with staff training and orientation of new staff.
• Ensure proper lab collection, processing and shipping according to policy.
• Update nursing assessment and plan of care with the Interdisciplinary Team.
