Job summary

Fresenius Kidney Care in the United States is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse (CAP 1) to provide and coordinate clinically competent care for a group of dialysis patients. The role includes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, with supervision from a Nurse Leader and collaboration with the care team.

The position offers part-time hours (MWF 5pm-10pm and every third Saturday 4:40am-5pm) and a 12-week training period requiring full-time availability for new staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current valid state licensure.
• CPR/BLS Certification.
• Must meet state practice requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under supervision and guidance of the Supervisor and Clinical Educator or Nurse in Charge.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during dialysis and documents in medical record; adjusts care plan as needed.
• Educates patients and families on care and treatment.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per protocol and documents justification.
• Participates in emergency response measures and staff training.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing and shipping; reschedules missed labs.
• Identifies outcomes and updates nursing assessment and care plans with the team.
• Discusses transplantation and treatment modality options with patients.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
