Job summary

Outset Medical, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the Tablo Dialysis System at customer sites and patient homes.

The role collaborates with clinical staff, manufacturing, engineering, marketing, and sales to ensure optimal system performance. The successful candidate will travel extensively across the United States, perform preventative maintenance, contribute to SOPs, and document all service activities in our quality management system.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field service or related industry experience.
• Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and fluids components.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel extensively within the United States, including overnight stays.
• Strong communication skills with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot and repair Tablo Dialysis Systems at customer facilities or patient homes.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, calibrations, and upgrades.
• Serve as a technical SME on the Tablo product and support stakeholders.
• Provide after-hours, holiday, and weekend coverage as needed.
• Document service activities and manage spare parts inventory.
• Prepare field service and expense reports per standards.
• Support Marketing and Sales for demonstrations and seminars.
• Feedback to R&D on performance and serviceability.
• Maintain company assets and adhere to Quality Management System.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Marketing, Sales).
