Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Diagnostic Sonographer to join the float pool with a home base at WestHealth clinic in Plymouth, MN, covering multiple imaging sites. 0.6 FTE, 48 hours per two-week pay period, with day/evening shifts and a Monday–Friday schedule; no weekends.

The role requires ARDMS certification and 3+ years of sonography experience, with a focus on abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular imaging. Travel to affiliated clinics within 30 miles is possible and diverse case mix is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or Radiologic Technology with ARDMS registered or eligible
• 3+ years Diagnostic Sonography experience
• Experience with two or more equipment manufacturers (preferred)
• Must be registered in Abdomen, Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, OB/GYN or Pediatric Sonography
• Allina locations require RVT within 6 months (not for Piper centers)
• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines
• Identifies patient with two identifiers
• Documents accurately all needed aspects of the procedure
• Observes and communicates with patient, responding to needs
• Maintains safe patient environment in procedure area
• Performs procedures with high degree of accuracy
• Gathers all relevant information to assist in interpretation of images
• Verifies all images transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system
• Provides accurate clerical function using Excellian
• Understands the storage and retrieval system
• Ensures all documentation is complete post procedure
• Communicates with Supervisor and team
• Reports problems, issues or ideas
• Provides assistance, ideas and information to support the work of others
• Other duties as assigned
