Job summary

Lukos seeks a Custody and Removal Coordinator to assist ERO Field Office and detention staff in maintaining a safe environment and delivering services to detained noncitizens. You will handle trauma-informed support, language interpretation, and coordination of resources for vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities include facilitating requests, coordinating accommodations, and helping plan removal and release while maintaining compliance with detention standards and agency policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Psychology; advanced degree preferred but not required.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and oral.
• Two years of experience with victims, trauma-informed programming or custodial settings.
• Experience serving vulnerable populations and understanding crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist detainees with needs, requests, and complaints using ICE forms.
• Support ERO staff with parent/child communication and child welfare issues.
• Coordinate disability accommodations with detention facilities as requested.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies and detention standards; communicate with detainees.
• Provide noncitizen referrals for care and follow-up to prevent issues.
• Support specialized housing units and programs for vulnerable populations.
• Provide language interpretation for facility staff and detainees.
• Develop and maintain a national resource database for CRC/ERO use.
• Meet newly detained noncitizens to orient them to CRC services.
• Assist with removal and release planning research and referrals.
