Job summary

Stream Data Centers is seeking a Desktop Technician to provide friendly, responsive Tier 1 IT support to employees at our Dallas and Frisco locations. You’ll deploy devices, assist with Microsoft 365 applications, and help onboard and offboard users under IT policies.

This entry-level role offers hands-on learning, collaboration with senior IT staff, and exposure to security and service-management practices. In-office schedule with potential after-hours coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Foundational knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 applications, and basic endpoint troubleshooting.
• Strong customer-service skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
• In-office role with travel between Dallas and Frisco.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 support through phone, email, chat, ticket portal, and in-person requests.
• Record, categorize, prioritize, and update incidents and service requests in the IT service-management system.
• Prepare, configure, deploy, replace, and recover laptops, desktops, monitors, mobile devices, and accessories.
• Assist with device enrollment, application installation, and endpoint provisioning through Microsoft Intune and other approved tools.
• Support password resets, multifactor authentication, and routine account-access issues while following identity-verification and least-privilege procedures.
• Complete onboarding and offboarding tasks, including equipment preparation, access coordination, device recovery, and asset documentation.
• Escalate unresolved, security-sensitive, or higher-impact issues with troubleshooting notes and evidence.
• Maintain accurate ticket notes, asset records, and knowledge articles.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with users and provide status updates until resolution.
• Follow Stream's information-security, change-management, and acceptable-use procedures.
• Support occasional after-hours activities or on-call coverage when assigned.
