Job summary

A large healthcare firm is seeking a Desktop Technician to upgrade approximately 5,000 workstations from Windows 10 to Windows 11. This role will entail training on imaging, driver installations, and some travel between locations in South Bend and Elkhart. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with Windows OS and experience assisting users with basic computer tasks. This is a contract position expected to last until at least February 2026.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Windows 10 and 11.
• Experience assisting end users with basic computer usage questions.
• Comfortable swapping computer hardware/peripherals.
• Basics of installing software/drivers within Windows.

Overview

Our large healthcare client is currently going through a Windows upgrade. This role will run through at least February of 2026.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade workstation fleet from Windows 10 to Windows 11 for ~5K desktops and laptops.
• Some older hardware is physically replaced, while newer hardware is reimaged to Windows 11.
• Receive training on internal processes such as imaging and software installation.
• PXE installing Windows 11 onto workstations via BigFix OS Deployment, then installing drivers/software and configuring the replacement to match the old device, followed by physical swapping of devices.
• Work across the Health System with focus in South Bend and Elkhart; some driving to off-site clinics/locations is required.

• Experience assisting end users with basic computer usage questions (opening programs, installing a printer, basics of MS Office).
• Comfortable swapping computer hardware/peripherals.
