Responsibilities

• Install, replace, upgrade, and deploy desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals.
• Support PC refresh projects with new equipment.
• Install and configure Windows 10/11, Office 365, Teams.
• Prepare, stage, and test computers before deployment.
• Review devices for apps, profiles, and settings prior to replacement.
• Assist users with data transfers and profile migration.
• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, peripherals, and network issues.
• Apply basics of AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and IPConfig.
• Maintain asset inventory and document deployment activities.
• Coordinate with IT teams and users for smooth transitions.
• Transport equipment between locations as required.
• Escalate issues and follow security procedures.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Desktop Support Technician – PC Refresh & Deployment. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Los Angeles, CA(Onsite).

Pay Range: $24/hr - $25/hour. Traveler benefits as per agency package. (Benefits vary by vendor and assignment).

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, replace, upgrade, and deploy desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and related peripherals.
• Support PC refresh projects by replacing existing equipment with updated systems.
• Install and configure Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and other required applications.
• Prepare, stage, and test computers before deployment.
• Review existing devices for applications, user profiles, and settings before equipment replacement.
• Assist users with data transfers, profile migration, and basic recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot common computer hardware, operating system, peripheral, and network connectivity issues.
• Apply basic knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and IPConfig commands.
• Maintain accurate asset inventory records and document equipment deployment and replacement activities.
• Coordinate with IT teams and end users to ensure a smooth transition to replacement equipment.
• Transport assigned IT equipment between locations when required.
• Escalate technical issues appropriately and follow established security and equipment-handling procedures.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with PC hardware, computer installation, desktop support, or IT equipment deployment.
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems and software installation.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for computers, laptops, monitors, and other peripherals.
• Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, and IPConfig.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and customer service abilities.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, maintain accurate documentation, and manage multiple assignments.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for work-related travel.
• Ability to travel between assigned locations throughout the workday.
• 1–2 years of PC hardware upgrades, desktop support, or deployment experience.
• Experience with PC refresh, workstation replacement, computer imaging, or device migration projects.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user profile management.
• Previous IT field service or multi-site desktop support experience.
• Mac troubleshooting experience is a plus.
