We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team in Waukegan, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Windows environments, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding support to end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Windows 10 desktops, VMware environments, and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory, PowerShell, Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams, OneDrive, and remote access tools such as Bomgar and RDP.
  • Manage and resolve incidents and service requests using the ServiceNow ticketing system.
  • Monitor and maintain individual work queues, ensuring timely resolution of VDI-related issues and service requests.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to technical processes and workflows.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering responsive and professional support.
  • Complete assigned tasks from dispatchers and management, updating service tickets promptly and accurately.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Windows-based systems and enterprise IT environments.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, PowerShell scripting, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience with remote support tools (e.g., Bomgar, RDP) and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and technologies.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with VMware environments.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
