Job summary

SS&C Technologies is seeking an Associate Desktop Systems Technician in Windsor, CT to support centralized IT hardware lifecycle and asset management for employees across the organization. The role emphasizes processing returned equipment, maintaining asset records, and coordinating redeployment, repair, or disposal with onsite presence five days a week.

You will also provide first‑level Windows/Microsoft 365 support and assist with onboarding/offboarding and inventory updates.

Qualifications

• Basic familiarity with Windows PCs, Microsoft 365, peripherals, and first‑level troubleshooting.
• Comfort with inventory tracking, data entry, spreadsheets, asset management tools, and IT ticketing systems; willingness to learn company systems.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail in recording serial numbers, asset tags, equipment condition, and movements.
• Professional communication, customer service skills, and ability to coordinate with employees, shipping teams, and IT colleagues across locations.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments and returned laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and accessories; verify against records.
• Inspect equipment for damage, function, and accessories; document discrepancies.
• Enter and maintain accurate records in the IT asset management system; reconcile inventory to records.
• Label, sort, and store hardware with proper custody.
• Coordinate equipment redeployment, repair, data sanitization, recycling, or disposal.
• Assist with device preparation, staging, packing, and shipping coordination.
• Provide first-level help desk and remote support for Windows, Microsoft 365, peripherals, connectivity, and account access issues.
