Job summary

Figma is seeking a Design Manager to lead our internal Design Systems and Design Infrastructure. You will steward the foundations, tokens and variables, component libraries, tooling, governance, and shared infrastructure that enable product teams to design and build at scale.

You’ll partner with Design, Product, and Engineering to craft strategy, hire and grow designers, drive transformation, and ensure coherence across the product suite while preserving team autonomy.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of design management experience across multiple workstreams
• Experience evolving internal design systems at scale and driving adoption
• Hands-on Figma expertise with strong design systems fluency
• Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities
• Experience connecting coded component systems with design libraries and workflows

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow designers across Figma's internal Design Systems foundations, tokens and variables, component libraries, internal tooling, governance, and adoption
• Set an ambitious vision and quality bar for the internal design system
• Partner with Design, Product, and Engineering leaders on strategy, resourcing, and execution across a complex organization
• Bring clarity to ambiguous cross-functional work while balancing system coherence with team autonomy
• Evolve the Design Systems operating model, including governance, contribution paths, documentation, and adoption practices
• Hire, coach, retain, and develop an exceptional team across multiple workstreams
• Represent the Design Systems perspective in broader organizational decisions and ensure evolutions align with product needs
