Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager - Design Quality to lead the Design Quality Assurance team in pursuing high product quality and continuous improvement. The role collaborates with engineering and manufacturing to implement strategies and drive COPQ reductions.

The position requires a STEM degree with extensive experience, citizenship for security clearance, and willingness to travel up to 25%. Onsite work in Richardson, TX or Sterling, VA.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum 7 years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience with non-recurring or design and development engineering, including Systems and Software Engineering.
• Experience leading a team in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans, guidelines, and policies to achieve quality targets and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Quality Management: Direct the development and implementation of organization-wide projects and processes to enhance overall product quality and reduce COPQ and escapes.
• Data-Driven Insights: Oversee the collection and analysis of quality data from various sources to develop long-term quality strategies and programs.
• Process Improvement: Lead process analyses to ensure compliance with quality standards, making recommendations for enhancements as needed.
• Talent Development: Develop and mentor team members, establishing a strong talent pipeline to support current and future business needs.
• Collaborative Partnerships: Foster collaborative relationships with functional and business leaders to promote a transformative quality organization aligned with business objectives.
