Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Engineer - Design Quality Assurance to join our Onsite team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role requires an active or ability to obtain a SECRET DoD clearance.

You will collaborate with program quality teams, IPTs, and customers to ensure quality objectives are met and costs controlled. You will lead RCCA/FRACAS, drive APQP as appropriate, and influence across multiple stakeholder levels to improve processes and prevent defects through the engineering

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001/AS9100 or AS9102).
• Experience overseeing failure and root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and delivering customer deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Interface with quality teams, programs, customers and IPTs to ensure quality and contractual compliance.
• Interface with customers and partners to establish effective relationships.
• Manage multiple levels of stakeholders to influence quality outcomes.
• Deliver products and services while identifying quality risks and opportunities.
• Improve processes and systems with strong analytical reasoning.
• Ensure inclusion of quality requirements and manage the quality budget.
• Monitor RCCA/FRACAS activities for systemic issues.
• Generate Cost of Quality projects to reduce costs.
• Implement APQP where applicable.
