Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Design Project Engineer I to join our team at one of our U.S. office locations (KS among others).

You will provide technical leadership and coordinate multidisciplinary design projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality objectives throughout the lifecycle. Responsibilities include coordinating input across disciplines, leading design reviews, supporting cost estimates and change management, and assisting in proposals and client

Qualifications

• Min. 7 years of progressive engineering experience in technical project roles.
• Experience in the AEC, Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industries preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering.
• Expertise in engineering design programs and BIM tools such as Navisworks.
• General knowledge of system design and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Support project leads in developing resource planning and work plans aligned with budget, schedule and deliverables.
• Ensure design compliance with safety, quality, client guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate input for project equipment list across disciplines.
• Lead and facilitate regular internal design coordination and review meetings.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, BIM teams, contractors and vendors to meet contractual obligations.
• Monitor design content for quality and adherence to design documents, schedule and budget.
• Support design change notices, including scope, hours and schedule.
• Assist in providing accurate estimates to complete.
• Address client comments, respond to RFIs with revisions, review vendor submittals.
• Support technical review of vendor bid documents and project cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Document Control for distribution and storage of documents.
• Support construction administration and resolve technical issues during execution.
• Assist in proposals, presentations and other sales/marketing documents.
