Job summary

IPS is seeking a Design Project Engineer I to join our team at one of the U.S. office locations (KS, MA, NJ, PA, MD, NC, or CA).

You will provide technical leadership for multidisciplinary design projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and quality objectives throughout the project lifecycle. You will coordinate design teams, support change management, and assist in proposals and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in progressive engineering roles on technical projects.
• Experience in the AEC, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences industries is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College in Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in engineering design programs and BIM tools e.g., Navisworks.
• General knowledge of system design and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and coordination for multidisciplinary design projects.
• Ensure design compliance with safety, quality, client design guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate input across disciplines for project equipment lists and design baselines.
• Lead and facilitate regular internal design coordination and review meetings.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, design-build teams, BIM, contractors, and vendors to meet contractual obligations.
• Monitor design content and progress for quality, scope, and budget.
• Support change management by identifying design changes and preparing change notices with scope, hours, and schedule.
• Support estimating to complete and responding to RFIs with design revisions.
