Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Design Engineering Manager for our Galesburg, IL facility. This on-site, permanent role leads a design engineering team and partners with manufacturing and supply chains to drive design for manufacturability and project execution.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background, 8–10 years in engineering design, and 3–5 years in leadership, with proven CAD proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor. Competitive compensation and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in engineering design.
• 3–5 years in a managerial or team leadership role.
• Strong experience in manufacturing design environments.
• Proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.

• Lead the design engineering and PE teams to ensure strong performance and productivity.
• Develop and implement design strategies, processes, and engineering best practices.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project execution.
• Drive innovation around manufacturability and improve drawings and BOMs.
• Resolve technical design issues and provide leadership on complex challenges.
• Prepare and present design proposals and project updates to management.
• Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing and supply teams.
• Support continuous improvement across the design and engineering function.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Lead the design engineering and PE teams to ensure strong performance and productivity

You should have most of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in engineering design
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a managerial or team leadership role
• Strong experience in manufacturing design environments
• Experience improving drawings, bills of material, and design for manufacturability
• Proficiency with CAD software
• Strong background using AutoCAD and Inventor
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations
• Proven ability to lead teams, solve technical design issues, and manage multiple engineering priorities
