Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Warsaw, Indiana facility. You will lead process development, validation, and optimization initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing of orthopedic products.

The role covers method development across machining, finishing, casting, molding, and heat-treating, with domestic travel up to 10%. A Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering or related field and 5+ years in manufacturing engineering are required.

Job Details
  • Provide engineering support for efficient, capable, and repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Develop, establish, and improve manufacturing methods that meet performance and quality requirements.
  • Create, maintain, and revise controlled technical documentation, including prints, procedures, bills of materials, and routers.
  • Develop and support processing applications involving machining, finishing, forging, casting, cleaning, heat treating, bonding, molding, and related manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop product-cost estimates.
  • Analyze capital-equipment requirements, manufacturing capacity, and process capability.
  • Evaluate alternative manufacturing approaches and select the most appropriate processes and machining methods.
  • Develop, lead, and execute manufacturing-engineering project plans and schedules.
  • Lead equipment-qualification and process-validation projects.
  • Implement new or improved processes and manage product flow through manufacturing.
  • Use technical and statistical analysis to solve complex product and process-performance issues.
  • Develop technical rationales for new process-performance and quality standards.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
  • Communicate project plans, technical direction, risks, and progress to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Coordinate work with manufacturing, quality, engineering, operations, and other departments.
  • Travel domestically up to 10%.
Qualifications

Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, another related engineering field, or a foreign equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related engineering position.
  • Alternatively, a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or another related engineering field with at least three years of relevant experience.
  • At least two years of experience interpreting blueprints and applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • At least two years of hands‑on Minitab experience.
  • At least two years of experience leading and prioritizing manufacturing‑engineering project assignments.
  • At least two years of experience implementing manufacturing processes and managing product flow.
  • Experience establishing or improving manufacturing methods that meet quality, capability, and performance requirements.
  • Experience creating or maintaining controlled manufacturing documents such as procedures, prints, bills of materials, and routers.
  • Proven ability to evaluate capital equipment, capacity, capability, product cost, and process feasibility.
  • Experience leading equipment‑qualification or process‑validation projects.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex manufacturing‑process or product‑performance issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10%.
