Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a stable manufacturing team in Wisconsin. You will design mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD, produce detailed drawings and BOMs, and push for cost-effective improvements.

Expect collaboration with production, quality, and suppliers to ensure designs are ready for manufacture. We're targeting candidates with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years' design experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably with

• Improve existing products via design enhancements and cost-reduction.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and new products using 3D CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation.
• Improve existing products through design enhancements, value engineering, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and suppliers to ensure designs are production-ready.
• Support prototype builds, testing, engineering changes, and production troubleshooting.
• Manage multiple engineering projects while meeting quality, cost, and timeline objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of mechanical or product design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, weldments, or mechanical assembly.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with product development, electro-mechanical systems, or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
