Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary BESS designs and review designs by others. This hybrid role offers in-office presence in multiple U.S. locations or fully remote work. Location specifics and expectations will be discussed in the interview process.

The role involves design support, CAD drafting, regulatory research, and collaboration with project teams, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and timely delivery. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET/accredited) is required.
• EIT certification or on track to obtain it is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates.
• Review bid drawings to internal standards and document differences.
• Review RFPs and communicate unique specifications to required parties.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Estimating for RFP responses.
• Perform basic electrical engineering calculations to support design.
• Create and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Research and stay current on NEC and NFPA 855 codes.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and specifications; maintain design revision history.
