SOLV Energy seeks a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary BESS designs and review others’ work. The role includes BESS design support, CAD drafting, code research, and collaboration with project teams.

Hybrid work is available with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA, Edison, NJ, Bend, OR or fully remote. Exact location details will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• EIT certification or on track to obtain it.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and building codes.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates.
• Review bid drawings for internal standards and document differences.
• Evaluate RFPs and communicate unique specs to necessary parties.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Estimating on responses to RFPs.
• Perform basic electrical engineering calculations to support design.
• Create and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Research NEC and NFPA 855 and stay current with codes.
• Participate in design reviews and coordinate with project teams.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and specifications.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and revision history.
