Golden State Dermatology is a physician-led dermatology group expanding across California. The Medical Assistant supports providers, prepares exam rooms, reviews patient history in EMA, and assists during Mohs and cosmetic dermatology procedures.

The role involves multitasking, front desk support, scheduling tests, processing prescriptions, and maintaining medical records. Helpful skills include patient service mindset, dermatology experience, insurance knowledge, and familiarity with EMA/

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset is helpful but not required.
• Experience in Dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics is helpful.
• Familiarity with insurance carriers is helpful.
• Knowledge of EMR software such as EMA/EClinicalWorks is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Review patient history, visit reason, medications, and notes in EMA.
• Assist dermatology providers during surgical procedures (excis ions, Mohs surgery, cosmetic procedures).
• Provide front desk support: answering phones and scheduling patients.
• Maintain pathology logs, biopsy books, and records in patient charts.
• Process prescription refills and obtain needed authorizations.
• Ensure timely completion of multiple tasks and assist practice manager as needed.
