Job summary

Anne Arundel Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support multiple NC clinics. You will room patients, record vitals, and document in the EMR while assisting physicians with dermatology procedures. The role includes patient flow coordination and maintaining strict infection control across locations.

You should have a Medical Assistant program, strong communication, and a willingness to travel to nearby offices. Dermatology experience is a plus and CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior medical/clinical experience preferred; dermatology experience is a plus.
• Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred.
• Comfortable supporting general medical and procedural patient care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient experience.
• Attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinic.
• Collaborative, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Willingness to travel to nearby practice locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document intake information in the EMR.
• Coordinate patient flow and support efficient clinic operations.
• Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipment and assist providers with dermatology procedures.
• Prepare and route pathology/lab specimens according to insurance requirements.
• Respond to patient questions, clinical task lists, and nurse line messages as directed.
• Clean, sterilize, maintain, and inventory clinical equipment and instruments.
• Maintain medication and supply inventory, remove expired items, and restock clinical areas.
• Support infection control standards and maintain organized, fully stocked clinical spaces.
• Accurately document patient information and scribe provider notes in the EMR.
• Assist with administration of local anesthetic.
• Ensure phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental communications are handled in a timely manner.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
