Job summary

Anne Arundel Dermatology in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Physicians and Providers in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. You will prepare procedure trays, ensure supplies, and assist with patient care in a dermatology setting.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, recording vitals, assisting with procedures, documenting in EMR, and maintaining infection control. Prior dermatology experience and CPR certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant Program, CNA, or pre-med degree preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of recent Medical Assistant or CNA experience preferred.
• Dermatology experience preferred.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document intake.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Organize patient flow.
• Set up procedure tray, instruments and equipment.
• Assist providers with dermatology procedures.
• Prepare Path/Lab specimens and route per insurance.
• Respond to patient questions in person or by phone.
• Review clinical task lists and nurse line messages.
• Calibrate, clean, sterilize and inventory equipment.
• Maintain medication supplies and records.
• Maintain infection control and stocked supply rooms.
• Inventory and restock all supplies.
• Document patient information in EMR and scribe notes.
• Assist with administration of local anesthetic.
• Address phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail promptly.
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
