Anne Arundel Dermatology in Raleigh, NC seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and providers in an outpatient dermatology clinic. You will room patients, take vital signs, document in the EMR, and assist with dermatology procedures.

The role emphasizes hands-on clinical experience and patient-focused care. The position offers a standard Monday–Friday schedule with possible travel to nearby practice locations; dermatology experience is a plus, and MA certification or program completion

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in the pre‑med or pre‑physician assistant track preferred.
• Dermatology experience is a plus.
• Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited MA program preferred unless required by state law.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to patient experience.
• Willingness to travel to nearby locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document intake in the EMR.
• Coordinate patient flow and support clinic operations.
• Prepare procedure trays and assist with dermatology procedures.
• Prepare and route pathology/lab specimens per insurance rules.
• Respond to patient questions and nurse line messages.
• Sterilize, maintain, and inventory clinical equipment and supplies.
• Manage medication and supply inventory and restock spaces.
• Uphold infection control standards and HIPAA compliance.
• Document patient info and scribe provider notes in the EMR.
• Assist with local anesthetic administration.
• Handle calls, faxes, and interdepartmental communications promptly.
