Job summary

Anne Arundel Dermatology, a leading dermatology clinic in Millersville, MD, is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians and providers in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will prepare procedure trays, manage supplies, take vital signs, document in the EMR, and assist with dermatology procedures.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of medical assistant or related clinical experience, EMR familiarity, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Dermatology experience is a plus.
• Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred, unless otherwise required by state law.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinic.
• Collaborative, dependable team player.
• Flexibility to travel to nearby locations when needed.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document intake information in the EMR.
• Coordinate patient flow and support clinic operations.
• Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and assist providers with dermatology procedures.
• Prepare and route pathology/lab specimens according to insurance requirements.
• Respond to patient questions and nurse line messages as directed.
• Maintain and inventory clinical equipment and supplies.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance while handling patient data.
• Assist with administration of local anesthetic.
• Ensure timely handling of messages, faxes, and interdepartmental communications.
