Job summary

Raleigh Medical Group in the United States is seeking a patient service representative for our Family Dermatology practice. You will be the first contact for patients, handling registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front-office operations to ensure smooth visits.

This role emphasizes compassionate customer service, accurate data entry, and collaboration with clinicians to deliver coordinated care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of medical office experience.
• Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak clearly and professionally in person and over the telephone.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
• Dependable attendance and ability to complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn practice management systems.

Responsibilities

• Answers and directs incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
• Returns patient calls and routes messages appropriately when necessary.
• Enters and updates patient demographic and insurance information while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Processes and reassigns incoming patient requests received through the patient portal and website.
• Submits new patient requests to the appropriate physician through the EHR system.
• Verifies insurance eligibility through the practice management system for same-day appointments.
• Processes appointment cancellation line information and updates schedules accordingly.
• Processes prescription refill request line information and routes requests to the appropriate clinical staff.
• Participates in departmental meetings and practice team meetings.
• Operates as part of a patient-centered care team by collaborating with clinical staff to provide coordinated patient care.
• Assists with patient check-in/check-out processes and other front office responsibilities as needed.
