Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a Deputy Structural Design Manager to lead and oversee design-build infrastructure projects exceeding $1B in value. You will coordinate across firms and offices to ensure quality, standards, and on-time delivery, serving as a key technical authority on complex transportation and bridge programs.

You will guide scope, fee proposals, staffing, risk management, and client relationships while mentoring teams and supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience
• Minimum 2 years of task management or Deputy PM experience
• Experience leading design-build infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

• Develop project scope and fee quotation and assist in technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA)
• Serve as the primary client liaison and manage the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction
• Assist with client project scoping and contract negotiations
• Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects
• Lead the development and the execution of the project management plan
• Supervise and mentor team to overall project objectives
• Coordinate staffing, recruitment, development, retention, and succession planning
• Partner with Client Service Leaders to assist with business development and pursuit efforts
• Lead proposal development and presentations for strategic projects
• May be responsible for recruitment and staff development and performance reviews
• Perform other duties as assigned
