Job summary

HNTB Corporation seeks a Deputy Structural Design Manager to lead and oversight large-scale design-build infrastructure projects. You will guide structural teams across firms, ensuring design quality, standards, and on-time delivery for multi-location projects valued well over a billion dollars.

You will review critical design decisions, manage technical interfaces, and drive adherence to codes and client expectations, while supporting schedule, resources, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 8 years of relevant experience
• 2 years task management or Deputy PM experience

Responsibilities

• Develop project scope and fee quotation and assist in technical proposals and contracts per HNTB’s Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA)
• Serve as primary client liaison; manage project team to deliver scope, schedule and budgets to client satisfaction; assist with scoping and contract negotiations
• Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects
• Implement project delivery plan using SDA; lead development and execution of the project management plan; supervise and mentor team to objectives
• Coordinate staffing with managers including recruitment, development, retention, and succession planning; support staff reporting and performance reviews
• Assist with business development, build client relationships, and pursue strategic projects; lead proposal development and presentations
• May recruit, hire, develop, and retain staff with reporting and compensation considerations
• Perform other duties as assigned
