Job summary

HNTB seeks a Deputy Structural Design Manager to lead and provide technical oversight for large-scale design-build infrastructure projects, potentially exceeding $1B. You will coordinate structural teams across multiple firms and offices, ensure design standard consistency, and review critical design decisions to meet codes and client expectations.

In this role, you will support design schedules, resource planning, risk management, and stakeholder coordination while mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience is stated.
• 2 years of task management or Deputy PM experience are stated.

Responsibilities

• Develop the project scope and fee quotation; assist with technical proposals and contracts.
• Serve as primary client liaison; manage project team for scope, schedule and budgets.
• Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production.
• Lead project management plan execution and mentor staff to project objectives.
• Coordinate staffing, recruitment, development, retention and performance reviews.
• Support business development and client relationship building for strategic projects.
