Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of Maine Criminal Justice Academy Pre-Service Law Enforcement Training.
• Eligible for certification as a Judicial Marshal or able to complete required trainings within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Judicial Marshal for the court, ensuring security for each session.
• Enforce Maine laws within the courthouse and monitor security equipment.
• Observe court entrants and movements to maintain safety and order.
• Assist with courtroom processes, paperwork flow, and evidence handling as needed.
• Maintain presence in public areas and direct people to locations and schedules.
• Announce opening, recess, and closing of court sessions and ensure parties are prepared.
