Job summary

GP Strategies Government Solutions in Anniston, AL is seeking a Deputy Emergency Preparedness Training Project Manager to lead large-scale training programs for first responders and emergency management professionals across the United States.

You will report to the Emergency Preparedness Training Program Manager and help oversee operations, workforce management, training delivery, and contract performance in a dynamic environment with classroom, hands-on exercises, and full-scale drills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Administration, Business Management, Public Safety, Military Science, or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of four (4) years of recent experience in management and supervision of program operations.
• Experience supporting large operational programs, training organizations, or mission-critical initiatives.
• Experience supervising personnel and coordinating multi-functional teams.
• Experience working in emergency management, response, disaster preparedness, public safety, military operations, law enforcement, or related field.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and dynamic operational environment.
• Experience preparing reports, tracking performance metrics, and supporting contract deliverables.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business management systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required government security/suitability/background investigations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Program Manager in the overall administration and execution of program operations.
• Assist with oversight of personnel, resources, schedules, and operational activities supporting contract requirements.
• Coordinate with instructors, management and support personnel to ensure successful program execution.
• Serve as alternate point of contact for government representatives and stakeholders.
• Monitor program performance and support achievement of operational, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Assist with staffing coordination, workforce planning, and employee performance management.
• Support development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, safety standards, and policies.
• Support preparedness training programs focused on Mass Casualty, Natural Disaster, CBRNE, Terrorism Preparedness.
• Assist in coordinating large-scale exercises, simulations, and preparedness activities.
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership review.
• Act on behalf of Training Program Manager during absences.
