Job summary

Bangor Savings Bank is seeking a Deposit Operations Manager to lead the department under the Director of Operations. The role covers account servicing, items processing, quality assurance and electronic banking functions in a customer-centric, results-driven environment.

The position requires strong leadership, knowledge of deposit operations and banking services, and the ability to collaborate across the organization to improve efficiency and manage risk.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree or work equivalent.
• Experience in leading teams/managing people.
• Deposit Operations, banking and/or financial services experience.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource and mentor for department staff (associates and supervisors) and routinely/proactively provides support, coaching and feedback.
• Helps create/maintain a culture of continuous improvement, both within departmental tasks/responsibilities and personnel.
• Is the primary point of contact for internal business partners, auditors/examiners and/or customers on matters relevant to Deposit Operations.
• Performs assigned operational duties, including some that are complex and require strong analytical skills to complete.
• Ensures that production schedules/deadlines are monitored, maintained and met. Monitors and manages department expenses and overall budget.
• Leads efforts to continue process improvement, with a keen eye on risk management, while also finding opportunities to leverage automation and/or robotics.
• Helps ensure that customer account information and reports are processed timely, accurately and in accordance with Bank and third-party policies and procedures.
• Compiles data and provides reporting/information to management and other areas of the Bank.
• Reviews and recommends process improvements to reduce cost, improve efficiency and/or mitigate risk to the bank.
