Job summary

Floor & Decor in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Training Specialist to develop Product Sales Specialists and deliver exceptional customer service. You will guide the team on basic retail strategies and ensure accurate product knowledge and showroom presentation.

The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of customer service or sales experience, and strong communication in a fast-paced environment. Forklift certification may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner consistent with company values.
• Follow safe lifting procedures as per SOPs.
• Drive and teach the company philosophy around the basic P’s of retail (People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing).
• Provide direction to product sales specialists to ensure attentive and accurate customer service.
• Complete all product specialist certification courses.
• Demonstrate understanding of merchandise and installation.
• Ensure department merchandising, pricing and organization.
• Communicate SOP directions and changes to associates in a timely manner.
• Complete forklift proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Direct and assist merchandise processing to showroom floor.
• Validate product placement and pricing within department.
• Greet customers in a helpful and courteous manner.
• Assist customers with product questions and selections.
• Process customers at checkout using POS.
• Process refunds and exchanges per guidelines.
• Present ‘how-to’ classes to customers.
• Follow cash, check and card acceptance procedures.
• Answer the telephone per guidelines.
• Stock and tag merchandise displays and create price tags/signs.
