Job summary

IES is seeking a Department Manager to supervise a multidisciplinary team across electrical, mechanical and communications contracting solutions. You will recruit, train, and manage staff while ensuring project profitability and strong customer engagement.

The role requires at least 7 years of supervisory experience and a solid background in telecommunications or related fields, with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to travel within branch/region as needed. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience interfacing with customers as liaison.
• Minimum 7 years supervisory/managerial experience.
• Minimum 5 years in telecommunications or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; MS Project experience helpful.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
• Ability to supervise multiple direct reports and define project scope.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, manage and supervise department staff.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to meet department goals.
• Manage workload distribution and project profitability.
• Coordinate scopes of work including telecom/AV/security/BIM.
• Participate in and/or facilitate bid processes.
• Ensure quality and safety for customer work and act as liaison.
• Develop and implement account process improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.
