Housing Works is seeking a Department Manager at the Processing & Distribution Center in New York to lead the apparel team and drive efficient operations across daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.

You will develop staff, oversee workflows, and collaborate on promotions while staying current with fashion markets. Excellence in service and leadership are essential for delivering high-quality results in a thrift-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent internal/external customer service.
• Knowledge of clothing brands, designers, retail stores and pricing.
• Ability to communicate productively and effectively.
• Willingness to learn and lead a small team.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, and train department staff.
• Oversee and report on daily, weekly, monthly activities of the department.
• Reevaluate systems to improve efficiency and accuracy while upholding policies.
• Ensure shop orders are filled accurately and on time.
• Plan with Senior Merchandising Manager for promotions and events.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of apparel markets.
• Motivate staff to meet goals and deliver quality results.
• Direct volunteers as needed.
