Housing Works is seeking a floating Thrift Shop Assistant Manager who will work across different store locations in New York. You will lead with a focus on exceptional customer service while supporting store operations, training, and team development under the Store Manager.

You should bring at least two years of retail leadership, strong communication, and a passion for Housing Works’ mission. This role emphasizes community engagement and financial performance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years prior retail management experience or equivalent experience in managing a team.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Interpersonal and team-oriented mindset with customer-service focus.

Responsabilités

• Plan ahead to develop strategic and operational objectives for self and others to ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Set goals for the store team, manage execution, track progress, and measure results using standard metrics.
• Train and develop staff and volunteers to meet standards and organizational goals.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and train sales associates with Store Manager support.
• Coach and counsel staff to maintain performance and store standards.
• Review store environment and merchandising to improve operations.
