Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC in Denver is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to establish our local practice and lead the expansion of the office. You will be the inaugural engineer in the Denver area, building client relationships and delivering solutions.

The role focuses on design of power distribution for industrial and critical facilities, coordination with process and mechanical teams, and guiding projects from basis of design through startup. Colorado license or ability to obtain is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical) with Colorado registration or ability to obtain.
• Experience leading electrical design for industrial, semiconductor, life sciences, or process-driven facilities.
• Desire to learn and grow into the new role.

Responsibilities

• Build the Denver office and establish the local presence.
• Serve as the firm’s local point of contact for clients in the region and staff the office.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers and designers as the office grows.
• Work with other offices to staff and deliver projects.
• Design power distribution for industrial and critical facilities, including LV/MV distribution, motor controls, lighting, standby generation, and fire alarm.
• Perform and review short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
• Lead electrical design from basis of design through construction documents, CA, and startup.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers on integrated facility designs.
• Review and seal drawings and calculations as Engineer of Record.
