Job summary

Great Expressions Dental Centers is seeking a Patient Coordinator to be the first point of contact for patients visiting or calling our practice. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, manage patient records, and handle general administrative tasks to keep the practice running smoothly.

In this role you will coordinate with dental staff, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and help patients understand pre-appointment paperwork while maintaining confidentiality and a positive patient

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of proven experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a dental or healthcare setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm and friendly welcome to patients as they arrive.
• Maintain a comfortable waiting area for patients.
• Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with patients.
• Schedule appointments considering patient preferences and staff availability.
• Confirm and remind patients about upcoming appointments.
• Coordinate with dental staff to manage the appointment calendar.
• Collect and update patient information accurately.
• Create and maintain patient records in the practice management system.
• Ensure records are confidential and privacy compliant.
• Verify and update patient insurance information.
• Calculate and collect co-pays, deductibles, and other payments.
• Process insurance claims and coordinate with providers.
• Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
• Provide instructions for pre-appointment forms and preparations.
• Maintain reception area cleanliness and organization; support smooth flow.
• Communicate with hygienists, assistants, and dentists about arrivals or changes.
