Job summary

Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a Patient Services Representative to support dental and medical operations in our Anchorage clinic. You will schedule appointments, check patients in and out, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and coordinate with multiple departments while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Strong customer service, attention to detail, and ability to work with electronic health record systems are essential.

Qualifications

• One to three years’ experience in a healthcare office setting.
• One-year experience in dental billing field is preferred.
• High school diploma or the equivalent required.
• Must be able to use a ten-key and balance large columns of numbers.
• Bilingual preferred; fluent English required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, cancel, or reschedule dental appointments and maintain a full provider schedule.
• Check in/out patients with accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Verify/update insurance eligibility and review payments including co-pays and deductibles.
• Handle payments, process transactions, and perform daily cash reconciliation.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages to appropriate staff.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and provide service excellence to patients.
