Job summary

Valley Smiles Dental Care is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. You will greet patients, review health histories, take x-rays, and provide chairside support with four-handed dentistry.

The role uses Dentrix for scheduling and records, with emphasis on safety and patient education. Strong communication and dental knowledge are essential; some roles may require state-specific certifications.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• If required by state law, dental assistant and/or x-ray certification.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and protecting PHI as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, provide comfort and education.
• Review patient health histories to inform quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during a wide range of procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
