Job summary

CHOICE Healthcare Services in North Las Vegas is seeking a part-time Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support dental care delivery in the Ortho department.

You will prepare treatment rooms, take x-rays, assist the doctor during procedures, sterilize instruments, and instruct patients on oral hygiene.

Requirements include Nevada X-Ray certification, BLS, infection control training, and a dental assistant certification or equivalent experience; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures
• Takes x-rays
• Takes IO's
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor
• Sterilizes instruments
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Summary

The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Nevada dental standards.
