Job summary

Choice-Healthcare-Services is seeking a Dental Assistant in Los Lunas, NM to support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments and materials. Responsibilities include passing instruments, taking x‑rays and assisting in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth, with NM X-ray certification and BLS required.

Preference is given to bilingual candidates (Spanish) and to those with certification from a dental college or 3–6 months related experience.

Qualifications

• Certification in dental assisting or 3–6 months related training/experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in procedures.
• Take x-rays.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials.
• Sterilize instruments and set up/ break down rooms for treatment.
• Instruct patients on oral hygiene and chart treatments with the doctor.

Dental Assistant

Summary:The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the New Mexico dental standards.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists the doctor in procedures
• Takes x-rays
• Takes IO's
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor
• Sterilizes instruments
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish, preferred

Required Certificates or Licenses:

• X-Ray New Mexico certification with license number
• BLS certification

Preferred Certificates or Licenses:

• Topical Fluoride New Mexico Certification
• Sealant New Mexico Certification
• Coronal Polish New Mexico Certification with License number
