Job summary

CHOICE Healthcare Services in Nevada is seeking a part-time Dental/Orthodontic Assistant to support orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments and materials, passing instruments, and assisting in procedures in compliance with Nevada standards.

The role includes taking X-rays and IOs, patient instruction on oral hygiene, charting, sterilizing instruments, and preparing rooms for treatment. Certification in Nevada X-ray, BLS, and infection control are required.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college or 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
• X-ray Nevada certification or affidavit requirement.
• BLS certification required.
• 4-hour Infection Control certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures.
• Takes x-rays.
• Takes IO's (intraoral exams).
• Assist in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor.
• Sterilizes instruments.
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene.
• Charting of patient’s treatment and treatment plan with doctor.

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

• X-Ray Nevada certification or affidavit

• 4-hour Infection Control certification
