Position Summary:

This position prepares dental patients for evaluation, assists dentists in providing dental care, and maintains sterile dental equipment and a well-stocked, efficient dental department.

Minimal Qualifications:

• Graduate of a dental assistant program
• Expanded duty Certificate for dental assistants
• Dental radiographer certificate

Responsibilities and Performance Expectations:

• Understand CFHC’s programs’ philosophies, goals, and objectives
• Comply with all policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
• Understand and follow the exposure control plan and Universal Precautions
• Attend staff and corporate meetings
• Assist with quality control, suture removal, periodontal dressing, and various dental procedures
• Provide diagnostic aid, including radiographs, medical/dental histories, vital signs, and impressions
• Apply sealants, fluoride, perform prophylaxis, and provide oral hygiene instructions, especially for children
• Prepare patients and coordinate their arrival/departure with reception
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• Provide postoperative instructions and prepare tray setups
• Assist in managing medical and dental emergencies
• Maintain dental records and supplies, and ensure OSHA standards are met
• Support educational programs and offsite screenings
• Assist with offsite lab coordination and fill in at the reception if needed
• Exhibit professionalism, teamwork, and compassionate communication, maintaining HIPAA compliance
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dental Director

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
