Job summary

Choice Healthcare Services offers orthodontic dental care with a focus on pediatric patients in the Southwest United States. The Orthodontic Dental Assistant will support care delivery, prepare treatment rooms and instruments, pass instruments, and assist in a variety of procedures in accordance with New Mexico standards.

The role emphasizes patient instruction on oral hygiene, charting, instrument sterilization, and room setup for hygiene and treatment.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
• Experience working as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures
• Takes x-rays
• Takes IO's
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor
• Sterilizes instruments
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Summary:The Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the New Mexico dental standards.
