Job summary

CHOICE Healthcare Services is seeking a Dental Assistant - Ortho to support dental care delivery by preparing rooms, patients, tools, and materials, and assisting with procedures in compliance with NM dental standards.

CHOICE is the largest provider of pediatric dental care in the Southwest, prioritizing high‑quality care for children. The role includes x-ray work, patient instruction, and room setup in a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college or equivalent in dental assisting.
• 3–6 months related experience or training preferred.
• X-Ray New Mexico certification with license number.
• BLS certification.
• Topical Fluoride New Mexico Certification, Sealant New Mexico Certification, Coronal Polish New Mexico Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures.
• Takes x-rays.
• Takes IOs.
• Assist in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor.
• Sterilizes instruments.
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene.
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor.

Dental Assistant - Ortho

The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the New Mexico dental standards.

Education and/or Experience
