Job summary

CHOICE Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Dental Assistant/Orthodontic Assistant to support care delivery, prepare rooms, and pass instruments. You will take x-rays and assist in procedures in a pediatric-focused clinic.

Requirements include a dental college certification or 3–6 months of related experience, plus NM X-ray certification and BLS. You’ll educate patients on oral hygiene and help maintain sterile practices.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college or 3–6 months related experience preferred.
• X-Ray NM certification and BLS are required or preferred.
• Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures.
• Takes x-rays.
• Takes IOs (intraoral inspections).
• Assists in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor.
• Sterilizes instruments.
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene.
• Charts patient treatment plans with doctor.

The Dentall/Orthodontic Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the New Mexico dental standards. Education and/or Experience
