Demand Field Service Technician

Reporting Line

This position reports to the Service Operations Manager.

Role and Responsibilities
  1. Execute service work according to work instructions, ABB quality, and safety guidelines.
  2. Deliver quality customer service, plan, and execute service tasks based on customer orders and expectations.
  3. Communicate effectively with customers regarding service timelines and expectations to ensure customer retention.
  4. This role is based remotely and contributes to the Process Automation Energy Industries division.
  5. Identify opportunities for operational improvements during on-site customer interactions.
  6. Perform field service tasks, diagnose technical issues, and analyze problems through remote or on-site activities within certified service categories.
  7. Prepare material lists and ensure availability and quality of all materials, parts, and equipment needed for service activities.
  8. Act as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or comparable military technical training with at least 2 years of relevant experience; a combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, networking, cybersecurity, and ABB Symphony Plus Distributed Control System is a plus. Formal training will be provided.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and willing to travel overnight up to 80%.
  • Experience in process automation is preferred; understanding systems maintenance, configuration, and process control is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Legal work authorization for employment in the US is required.
